Mississippi police officer found her own son dead on a street after responding to a shooting call last Sunday, law enforcement officials reported.
“Initially we responded to an emergency call for a shooting, without knowing that the person who had died there was my son,” said the officer Laquandia Cooley to the media.
“When we went out, I looked and thought, ‘This is my son, this is my son.’ So I literally fell apart, why? Who would do this to my son? ”Said the agent.
“I couldn’t even believe what I was seeing,” he added. “I was seeing my own son lying on the ground dead. It was more of a panic. It was simply, it was too much, “he concluded.
According to preliminary police reports, Cooley’s 20-year-old son, Charles Stewart Jr., died of a gunshot wound to the head.
Stewart’s father, Charles Stewart, told the media that his son’s death was “traumatizing for the whole family.”
“We are just trying to cope on a day-to-day basis,” he said. “I’m just trying to find out why this happened and who could have done it,” he added.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is handling the case; At the moment the motive for the murder is unknown, but the police ask that they get in touch if they have any information
