COVID: Jalisco, third national place with more cases of omicron

With 43 cases of the new strain confirmed until this Friday, Jalisco was located in the third place only below the State of Mexico, which reported 81 cases to date, and Mexico City, which registered 337 omicron infections, according to figures from the German platform GISAID, which provides open access to influenza virus and COVID-19 genomic data.

According to statistics, The country closes this Friday with 648 infections of the new variant of the coronavirus, ranking as the country with the most omicron cases in Latin America, and in the 17th position worldwide. The United Kingdom (94 thousand 397 infections), the United States (64 thousand 139) and Denmark (12 thousand 153) are the countries that lead the international ranking.

Just yesterday, Thursday, Mexico reported 347 infections of the strain, which measures the contagiousness reported by the WHO on its behavior.

Jalisco exceeds 1,500 cases of COVID-19

This Friday the Jalisco Health Secretariat notified 1,512 new infections of COVID-19, with which there are already 5,740 infections since last January 1. In total, 407 thousand 534 infections have been registered since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
