Official: After more than two years absent Klay Thompson will return this Sunday with Golden State Warriors [Video]

The Golden State Warriors star, Klay Thompson, announced this Saturday his official return to the NBA courts this Sunday against the Cleveland Cavaliers after more than two years away due to injuries.

Thompson, one of the best guards in the league, posted on the official Warriors account a message saying “I’m back” and ending the 970 days without enjoying basketball.

The star’s last game was in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors, where he suffered a torn cruciate ligament in his left knee in the third quarter of the game.

A year later, when it seemed like he would return to action, he suffered an Achilles tendon injury that changed his recovery time completely; both injuries would justify their prolonged absence.

On the incorporation of “The Splash Brother”, the Warriors player, Draymond Green, published a couple of stories on Instagram. In one of them, he stated “not being able to sleep” and “being ready to go to practice”, along with a photo of both.

In the second story, Green criticized the NBA’s list of the best 75 players in history for not including Thompson on the list.

“If my friend is not in the Top 75, why do they care so much? This is MONUMENTAL! Now check the list of all of you, “he commented.

Thompson’s return seems to further shield the Golden State team, which is second in the NBA Western Conference with 29 wins and 9 losses just one game behind the Phoenix Suns, top of the table.
