Miguel Ángel Pérez passed away due to the brain tumor that he suffered from two years ago. This boy, only 10 years old, was the one to whom Álvaro Morata dedicated the goal that qualified the Spanish team for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

“Sadly, we have to mourn the loss of little Michelangelo. Your joy and your love for the national team will always be an inspiration for us and for all of us who love football, ”the Spanish team reported on Twitter.

In his message, La Roja shared a photo in which Morata appears celebrating the winning goal against Sweden. “Your star, the most beautiful, already shines in the sky. Rest in peace, friend ”, added the selection.

In the same vein, Deportivo Alhaurino showed: “We want to give the family a big hug in these devastating moments. Rest, little one. Although your star has been extinguished on Earth, it will continue to shine from the sky.

Morata dressed up as a hero in mid-November, after scoring at minute 86 the goal with which Spain beat Sweden (1-0) and giving him a ticket to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Before this match, thanks to the Little Wish foundation, Miguel Ángel met the Juventus striker and gave him a wand with a star. He promised the boy that if he scored against Sweden he would dedicate it to him, and that’s how it was.

At the time of celebrating the goal, Morata looked for one of the props and showed a star. “The really important things. One of the most beautiful goals I will score in my life. It’s going for you, Miguel Ángel ”, the footballer had published on his social networks.
