The last 5 bodies of migrants killed in an accident in Mexico arrive in the Dominican Republic

In the accident, 56 people died and more than a hundred were injured, dozens of them remain in serious condition.

The Dominican Republic received this Thursday the last five bodies of a total of eleven nationals who died in the truck accident that occurred on December 9 in Chiapas, Mexico, when it was transporting dozens of irregular migrants and in which 56 of its occupants died.

These are the mortal remains of Raymin Brito Figuero, Wáscar Pérez Vargas, Luis Alfredo Brito Báez, Ramón Benito Almonte Espinal and Luis Emilia Roa Chala.

Authorities from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Mexican Migration Institute landed this Thursday night at the San Isidro military airport, east of Santo Domingo, to deliver the coffins, the Dominican Foreign Ministry reported.

Of the 16 Dominicans who were traveling in the trailer, 11 died, while another three are hospitalized and two remain missing.

Six bodies had already been repatriated since December 25 on different flights.

In the accident, 56 people died and more than a hundred were injured, dozens of them remain in serious condition.

Most of the migrants were from Central America, and their purpose was to reach the border with the United States.
