“Unimaginable Tragedy”: Teen Killed in Connecticut High School Hockey Players Clash

As “An Unimaginable Tragedy” was the death of a high school hockey player after sustaining injuries on the ice during a game in Connecticut.

The tragic incident occurred in Greenwich on Thursday night during a game between Brunswick School – a college preparatory school for boys in Greenwich – and St. Luke’s School, a private co-ed institution in New Canaan.

At one point in the game, “a player from the other team fell to the ice,” according to a Greenwich police statement, obtained by Greenwich Time. “Someone else who was near the downed player couldn’t stop and collided with him,” said Police Capt. Mark Zuccerella.

The injured young man was rushed to Greenwich Hospital, where he “died as a result of the injury.” Brunswick school principal Thomas Philip said he had reached out to the unidentified minor’s family to offer support. “An unimaginable tragedy,” he commented.
