The video of “Baby Shark”, the popular South Korean children’s song, became the first to exceed 10 billion views on YouTube, a goal that was achieved just over a year after unseating Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” as the most watched on the digital platform.

The catchy tune, recorded by the Korean-American singer Hope Segoine and produced by the South Korean educational company Pinkfong, was originally posted on YouTube on June 17, 2016.

Since then, it has become one of the most recognizable songs in the world and even made the Billboard Top100 chart in 2019.
